The Parvati Valley
One of the many breath-taking places in the Himalayan region of Himachal Pradesh. The Kasol to Kheerganga trek is an invigorating journey, and although it does not take long enough to discover how magnificent the landscape of the majestic mountains truly are, there are countless opportunities you will encounter on your way from village to village where the people living there may teach you about their enlightening culture. There will be numerous moments where you can snap pictures with perfectly aligned peaks that are located behind you in the distance, as they stand tall with their glistening shades of white which change colours as time moves along throughout this marvellous region!
Begin journey to Kheerganga
We should begin our journey to Kheerganga from Barshaini, a small village that is about 45 minutes away from Kasol, by road. The first step when coming here is to drop off your bags in your room at the meditation school run by the monks. From here you will have to start the on foot journey which takes anywhere from 2-3 hours. On the way there are several attractions near the river which one can see and snap pictures of. The most impressive part about this hike though is definitely Rudranag which is a magnificent waterfall that flows along deserted mountains connecting with another large waterfall nearby. They are both stunning falls that make up one of the highlights of this place.
If you’re up for something fun and exciting, melting away your insecurities as you scream down the side of a mountain on one of the many water slides from hot springs to cold pools, don’t miss out on an opportunity to discover something new. As you soak into these thermal baths at altitudes ranging between 11,500 and 14,000 feet (3,500 to 4,300 meters) amid Himalayan foothills and awe-inspiring views of snowcapped peaks, you’ll never have seen anything like this before. You can rest assured that these unique experiences will give you plenty of good stories to share with your friends after returning home! We also offer private tubing instead of public bathtubbing if that’s more your darling!
KASOL TO KHEERGANGA TREK:
Day |: Barshaini – Rudra Nag – Kheerganga The 2-day Kheerganga trek begins from the small village of Barshaini, situated on the banks of the serene Parvati River. Meet at base camp before 10 AM to start your trek into the hills. Trek on board a jeep road which leads you into the forested landscape of Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu Valley. You will pass through some wooden bridges and many slippery sections during this part of the Kheerganga trek from Kasol. You will also get to see plenty of picturesque waterfalls on your journey, so be sure to take plenty of photographs!
Later we arrive at Rudra Nag and stop at a small roadside space to view the landscape. The waterfall has become a popular tourist spot and is one of the main reasons for trekkers visiting this valley. There is also a special view point in Rudra Nag from where you can see the sunrise (rising above Har-Ki-Doon peak) that is supposed to be very beautiful. The trek takes us past 3 small villages which are Kalga and Pulga. Towns on the way which people visit are Chor Abad, Kasol and Sadhu Ghat (more commonly known as Pashupati rest house).
After reaching the green meadow of Kheerganga, you’re going to want to unwind after all the hiking by enjoying a relaxing soak in the hot springs. The warm air and tranquil views of the snowy peaks of the Himalayas, as well as the healing water from the springs will provide a refreshing experience that you and your friends won’t soon forget! After getting some much needed rest in your comfortable campsite and spending time with your loved ones, it will be time to hike back up the mountain once more – but this time, it gets even better since you have seen what lies further ahead!
Day 2: Kheerganga – Rudra Naga – Barshaini Wake up to a magnificent view of the Himalayan peaks around you, and make your way back to Kasol along the same trail that you first hiked on when arriving at Kheerganga. Use this opportunity to photograph another beautiful setting while visiting different places. The waterfalls scattered along this trail are absolutely stunning and provide great photo opportunities, helping you save the images in your mind as well as on your smartphone’s storage. You reach Barshaini again after covering some distance by foot and head back to Kasol (on your own). We hope you will always remember these vibrant memories of trekking from Kasol to Kheerganga!
